Angus Calves Fall Weaning
McKenzie Cattle Land and Livestock has finished fall weaning of our Angus calves, and we are seeing the results of a summer with abundant rainfall. Our calves weaned heavier than in years past and the cows are in good shape to go into the winter.
It may seem like we are bragging, but this is such a rare occurrence in West Texas that it feels more like a commemoration of a blessed season. In truth, the photos I took throughout August and September don’t even look like the arid country we live in; ponds are full and cows are standing in grass. I feel certain that I will be looking back at these photos remembering of the summer of 2016 when we weaned those heavy Angus calves. For now, I think I will just let the photos speak for themselves…
